The Alexander Vein Headache Clinic is the leading private neurology outpatient center in Russia.

The clinic was founded by Professor Alexander Vein and follows the tradition of this renowned Russian scientist, neurologist and former chief of one of the neurology departments at I.M. Sechenov Moscow State Medical University. All neurologists at the Clinic were trained by this distinguished scientist and physician.

Today, the Clinic’s medical director is Professor Dr. Elena Filatova.

Like other renowned pain centers, the Clinic offers a comprehensive multi-disciplinary approach. We use only recognized diagnostic and treatment methods which have a solid evidence base and are in line with the globally accepted treatment practices. In cases of differential diagnosis, our patients can see an experienced endocrinologist and cardiologist with a special interest in psychosomatic medicine.

Biofeedback is a method of learning how to gain voluntary control over seemingly involuntary processes. During the breathing and relaxation training the computer gives feedback on muscle tension, heartbeat rate, blood pressure, and other parameters. Biofeedback is a recognized treatment method for headaches, panic disorder and hyperventilation.

• Botulinum toxin injections

Botulinum toxin, long used for cosmetic purposes, is a novel therapy for the treatment of pain. Efficacy of various versions of botulinum toxin in treating migraine and disorders of the temporomandibular joint are currently investigated in clinical trials. For a large number of patients botulin toxin can bring the long-awaited pain relief.

We do not offer preset treatment packages. We strongly believe that each patient is unique, that is why we discuss the treatment program individually with each patient. As the world-famous Russian physician Grigory Zakharyin said, we treat the patient rather than the disease.

Walk down Leningradsky prospect to building #26 (10 minutes), turn into the archway. Continue for 50 meters straight ahead, you will see the Clinic on your right hand side.

You can also take trolleybus 1, 12, 20 or 70, alight at stop ‘Leningradsky prospect 26’.

Follow Leningradsky prospect to building #26 (after you pass Ulitsa Pravdy), continue into the archway to the right. Drive 50 meters straight ahead, you will see the Clinic on your right hand side.
